Girl Care 101: Building a Routine to Support Your Body and Mind with SadieB Therapist Sam Dalton (LCSW)

Girl Care 101: Building a Routine to Support Your Body and Mind with SadieB Therapist Sam Dalton (LCSW)

Let’s talk about Girl Care!

Girl Care is a routine that supports your body + mind. These routines and habits can revolve around your day to day personal hygiene, managing your physical health, cultivating connection and support through friendship, commitment to your education, and engaging in habits and activities that help you feel empowered and bold. We believe that when you learn how to intentionally care for yourself, you are able to face anything.

We also know that you are up against a lot every day. It’s mentally draining to be dealing with issues such as bullying, rejection, anxiety, constant messaging about appearance and body image, and feelings of overwhelm surrounding the current state of the world. All of these things and more take a massive toll on your mental health. It can feel discouraging to keep going when your mental health is suffering.

SadieB is owned and operated by girls, so we get it 🫶. We know first hand the difficulties of being a girl and that girls’ mental health needs more attention. That’s why we created the first personal care brand designed for your lifestyle to help you build a Girl Care routine to support your body + mind.

Two critical parts of building a Girl Care routine is first, taking time to make a plan that fits you. You have unique and important needs that deserve time and attention. Second, is to start small. It can become overwhelming if you change your current routine too much. The small things count. Some of our favorite ways to start taking care of our body + mind in small ways are using SadieB products in the shower 🙂 or taking a deep breath when we’re feeling anxious.

Here are some questions you can ask yourself to give you a jumpstart on building your Girl Care routine:

  1. How do I want to take care of myself?
  2. What does ‘taking care of myself’ mean to me?
  3. What are things I love to do? How can I make more time for those things?
  4. What am I struggling with right now? Who can I talk to about it?
  5. What am I feeling proud of right now?
  6. What are 3 kind things I can say to myself?
  7. What goals do I have right now? How can I break them down into smaller tasks?
  8. How am I already taking care of myself?
  9. Which areas of my life are needing more care?
  10. How can I communicate what I need?
